Matt Qualey
President Matt Qualey and his wife Laurie started Qualey Granite & Quartz in 2003 as an offshoot of their landscaping business. Today, with our location in Veazie, Maine Stone Design Center offers the largest indoor inventory of slabs in Northern New England.
A Mainer who grew up on a potato farm in Aroostook County, Matt Qualey is no stranger to what it means to put his heart into hard work. This dedication to working hard for clients is a core business value shared by every member of the team. Because if we’re not working as hard as we can to develop a solid, long term relationship with you then we’ve failed. And we don’t like to fail.
Although she stepped away from her day-to-day activities in 2012, Matt’s wife Laurie still heads charitable giving and community outreach for the company. Laurie started the charity “Rescue Dogs Rock!” in 2011 after the death of her beloved Chihuahua, Piper. She currently serves on the executive board of the Bangor Humane Society and recently started GEE (Guided Education Enrichment) which works privately with gifted students.
